another type of project ...

i've been on a blogging hiatus, but i'm back to report on the project that has been consuming me the last few months.  one of wedding bells.

that's right - rob and i are getting married!  you may remember my trip back to savannah?  that first evening, rob proposed on the tybee island pier under a full harvest moon.

not to worry.  this will not become a wedding blog but i do want to share some ideas of our big day. i'm excited to take a (short) break from my house and focus on another type of project.

just with any other design vision, i have found myself defining a 'theme' in all of this; it has been all about how the small details come together to form the big picture.

we both envisioned something intimate and casual.  so when i stumbled upon this off-the-beaten-path venue in weston, missouri my heart skipped a beat.  willougby design barn:

an added bonus (and what rob is most excited about), is that the farmkeeper has a passion for BBQ and caters on occasion to large parties at the barn.

and now, some images that i have been collecting as inspiration:

i am in the middle of a small house project so i will resume to posting regular design projects next week!
